What does car paint restoration fix?
Vancouver is hard on paint. Not crash-hard, the slow kind: a winter of gravel spray on the rockers, sap from whatever tree you park under in May, that grey rain film that never quite rinses off. Add a few dozen runs through a brush tunnel and the finish picks up damage nobody remembers causing. Almost none of it needs a respray, though. It needs correcting.
Look at your hood in flat daylight. Grey-ish? Now check it under a parking lot light after dark, because that's where the spider webbing shows. Rough under your palm after a wash is the third giveaway. All three point at the same thing: damage sitting in the clear coat, which a polish can level out.

How does car paint restoration work?
Wax hides damage for a month. Machine polishing removes it. The cutting compound takes off a micro-layer of clear coat (the layer the scratches actually live in), then a finer polish works the surface back up to gloss. Before any pad touches your car, the shop manager walks the paint with you and prices the stages.

What can't polishing fix?
Polishing works inside the clear coat. Three problems live deeper than a polisher can reach, and we'd rather tell you at assessment than after your money's spent.
Chips & Deep Scratches
If a fingernail catches in it, it's through the clear coat. That's paint protection film territory for prevention, or paint repair to fix.
Failed Clear Coat
Peeling or cloudy-white clear coat can't be polished back. That's respray work, and our sister company West Coast Auto Lab handles paint repair from $350 per panel, quoted by photo.
Corrosion
Rust spreads under paint and polishing won't stop it. Catch it early with undercoating and rust protection, done on our hoists at Kingsway.

Two habits protect what you just paid for. Hand washing is the first, and yes, we're biased, but brushes are how the swirls got there in the first place. Every wash at our shops is done by hand, and our guide on how often to wash in Vancouver covers the schedule, season by season.

What's the difference between paint correction and paint restoration?
Same craft, two names. Paint correction is the machine polishing process; restoration is the result you see. Our stages are cut polishing, and around Vancouver you'll hear both names for the same work.
Will paint restoration remove deep scratches?
Polishing removes damage that sits in the clear coat. If a fingernail catches in the scratch, it's usually too deep to polish out, and we'll point you to paint repair or paint protection film instead of selling you a stage that won't fix it.
How long does paint restoration take?
It depends on the stages your paint needs and the vehicle condition, assessed on-site before we start. As a guide, a first-stage polish pairs inside a Diamond Exterior Detail, which runs 3 to 4 hours.
